Monday Night Raw July 27, 2026

This is the go-home Raw for SummerSlam! Just five nights away from two nights of.. something. That’s yet to be determined.

We’re kicking off the show with Triple HHH (that’s 9 H’s if you need help) and Adam Pearce in the ring and the cell lowering. I still get hyped over the cell / cage having their own theme.

The rent-a-cops are out for the Oba and Brock weigh-in. Brock has a new shirt from last week. You see, SHIT is a big bad word that will corrupt the children. So they can’t use that shirt any longer. Now it can say SH*T though and that’s totally fine.

Oba reportedly weighs 302 pounds. I appreciate that it’s a digital scale so we don’t get another AEW Cody/Ogogo situation with Big Show not knowing how to use a scale.

Brock is on this way out. The “ramp” looks to be carpeted. I wonder if that’s so Brock doesn’t slip again. Brock has his own rent-a-cops. Some of them are so happy to be extras on Raw that they’re mugging the cam as they walk by. They’re not getting booked again.

Brock just locked the door to the cell from the outside. So he can trap everyone. But they’re just going to raise the cell anyway once the segment is over so what sense does that make? I haven’t been keeping count but by now Brock has taken his hat off about 4 times this segment so far. Heyman’s mic keeps cutting out. So far this segment is batting a thousand. Brock has the key for the lock in his mouth and I’m half expecting him at this rate to accidentally swallow it. Heyman says Brock is currently at 303 pounds. Brock put the key out of reach of the cell on the ground, then called Oba a bitch. Because in WWE you know it means business when they drop that word.

Oba just said he’s coming. He also just told Brock “I’m not locked in here with you. You’re locked in here with me.” Reminder, technically neither is correct because they’re on separate sides of the cage. Oba is now beating the rent-a-cops. Almost just broke the neck of one. That could have gone VERY bad. Then gives him a stiff kick to get him out of the ring. I think the rent-a-cop fucked up going up for the powerbomb and just got his receipt. At least Oba remembered to pose this time.

Another Seth and Rollins clip. This time showcasing Roman and Seth at Royal Rumble 2022 with Seth doing his SHIELD entrance to get into Roman’s head. I was there live for this and can confirm it was incredible.

The bloodline.. is now in yo cit-ay. Jey and Jimmy arrive followed in a Wagoneer by by Jacob and Roman.

First match of the night is up.. Vision is up first for a tag match.

Match 1
Vision (Bron & Theory) versus Alpha Academy (Otis & Tozawa)

Did anyone else not know that Otis and Tozawa are going by Alpha Academy? I mean not like they’ve gotten a legit entrance in.. who knows when. Commercial 1 comes up and as we get back, Vision’s music is still on. We get an Alpha Academy entrance!

Bron and Otis start it up. They’ve been building up these two teams for a few weeks now so I suspect Otis and Tozawa get the win here then fight for the tag belts next week. Otherwise what’s the purpose of them making Bron look like a dope?

Time for commercial 2. We were back for all of 3 minutes. So 6 minutes of commercials in 9 minutes. Amazing.

While the commercials go on I just checked my phone and see System of a Down are going to play a live show. With Faith No More!
In Australia and New Zealand. Whelp.

We’re back to Bron giving Tozawa a military press. I know the guy getting pressed is doing a lot of work there, but Bron still has to do his part. One of these days they’ll do something with him.

Tozawa gets the hot tag on Otis who is taking it to Theory. Then Bron comes in and is getting some too. Otis now does a Caterpillar into a splash instead of his elbow. And I also wonder if anyone understands why when he does it it’s the Caterpillar.

Theory is down with Tozawa on the turnbuckle. Tozawa refuses to do anything because Logan Paul gets up on the apron to distract the ref. After giving him some time to recover Tozawa goes for his senton, for Theory to get the knees up. Bron comes in and nearly splits Tozawa in half with a spear. The Vision get the win. And for what? Beat down ensues. Tozawa is double killed, Otis gets power bombed off the turnbuckle + a Bron spear. What did this actually accomplish other than continuing to make Bron look like a total dork?

Winner: The Vision via pinfall

In the back with have Jackie Redmond and she’s with L. A. Knight. Yeah. I can only watch the reflection of his glasses. Oh he just took them off. Now he’s talking about paranoia. Editors note: Knight, it’s not paranoia. It’s the USO’S.

We get a backstage pre-taped of Raquel looking off camera at something and cutting a promo on Sol, about how she’ll take the belt. And now Sol is talking off camera to Raquel. I’m like 90% sure they’re not actually in the same room.. since you know they didn’t actually show the two of them together. Awkward. They’ll fight for the IC title tonight. As an aside, I’m just so over how everyone who can speak Spanish must cut their promo bi-lingual.

Time for commercial 3. Included is a commercial with Cody telling the Cricket mascots that champions never rest. I guess Roman hasn’t seen this commercial yet.

We’re back and they’re showing the people in the crowd - Raw is in LA (not Knight). Jimmy Hart is there, which I’m honestly surprised by. I doubt WWE flew him out for a 5 second TV spot and I would assume he’d have lived near Hogan since they were best friends and Jimmy was legit his business manager.

We get a promo for Gable, from his program against Gunther, his heel turn, his fight in AAA against El Grande Americano (an all-timer match), and his redemption and how he “needs the title”. I wonder what Gable’s career looks like if he’s made Angle’s son over Jason Jordan.

We move immediately into an Iyo promo for her match against Liv at SummerSlam. Apparently Liv, who won the belt at ‘Mania, hasn’t defended it since? Over 3 months without a defense?

Je’Von Evans is on his way out. And he’ll be taking on Rusev.. right after this commercial break (number four for those playing along at home).

Match 2
Je’Von Evans versus Rusev

Back from commercial and Rusev is making his entrance. I’m a bit surprised that of the two matches, everyone has gotten an entrance. The two are brawling on the outside as we move to commercial 5. Another Picture in Picture commercial with match. Back from break and Rusev has Evans in a rest hold. Which isn’t a shock. Because commercial.

I’m trying to remember if Rusev hs won a televised singles match since returning. I think the answer is no, which is making me not care about this match. It’s crazy how you need to build two guys for a match to be exciting.

Rusev retreated to the outside for a good few seconds with the ref going out after him. The camera didn’t follow him and with no count I guess maybe he was actually knocked loopy for a second? He rushes back to the ring and Evans catches him but then Rusev takes control. Rusev is going for the accolade but Evans is fighting it. A sick high knee by Evans. Evans goes up to the top rope for an OG Cutter and Rusev blocks it and locks in the accolade. Cole has just told me that Evans has in fact tapped to this before. Evans slips out and gets to the rope again. Rusev is setting up for his matcha kick (yeah fun fact Rusev really likes matcha tea so his kick is named after it), but Evans will duck it and hit his cutter.

And that’s exactly what happened.

Winner: Evans via pin after an OG Cutter

Another Seth and Roman promo. This one recapping Seth costing Roman the title at Mania 40. You know… Mania 40 was the biggest one yet. Because it was XL.

They announce Rollins and Reigns face to face. As they do we see Seth. And then the camera pans and we see h’s staring in a mirror. So I guess it’s really Seth and Rollins face to face?

Commercial break six to keep me from more bad jokes.

We just heard the acoustic guitar strum and HOLY SHIT IT’S ELIAS no it’s a Joe Hendry and Danhausen concert. This is awful. The crowd is completely dead. This is like an all-time bad segment. Ryan Garcia just attacked Joe Hendry and MERCIFULLY stopped this “concert”. Apparently he’s like the UFC welterweight champion I guess I don’t know who cares. The segment ends to Ryan Garcia getting a pop for ending this segment and the crowd mic IMMEDIATELY getting muted. Yeah, they knew.

We now get a pre-tape of Penta he’ll retain at SummerSlam blah blah blah whatever.

We got a ref in the ring so that means match 3 is coming up.

They show Mario Lopez in the ring and he deservedly gets no reaction. Oh look and next they show Ashton “Go lenient on my friend who’s a rapist” Kutcher.

Raymond Stereo is on his way out and it’s announced he’ll be taking on Ethan Page after this commercial break. Which by my count should now be number seven of the night.

Match 3
Rey Mysterio versus Ethan Page

We come back to another promo for Big Cass. They’re hyping him up for his return… big.

We now get the back end of Ethan’s entrance. The match starts with Cole and Corey talking up Rey on AAA. He’s their authority figure and a commentator. And he sounds so disconnected whenever he’s on commentary for them. Rey gets up high on Page and Page goes out of the ring. Ethan holds on and turns it into a powerbomb on the apron as we move to commercial 8 on the night.

We’re back from commercial and I was in the bathroom so I don’t know what I’ve missed. Rey hit what Cole hit a hurricanrana. And admittedly I was looking at the screen typing, but I’m fairly certain he did not in fact hit a hurricanrana. Rey goes for floating hip toss, but someone missed their mark there and Rey drops straight to the ground. Ethan picks him up and hits a power slam. Rey delivers a floating DDT in return. Before he hits it, let me just saying that I’m so tired of the 619. The setup is so contrived. Moves that don’t need a setup are so much better because they can just get hit out of nowhere.

As predicted, Rey hits the setup, but Ethan blocks it by lifting the apron to catch Rey! Page hits the Egoplex and gets the win!! Enormous win for Ego!!!

Winner: Ethan Page via pin off an Egoplex

We get another pre-tape with Liv cutting a promo on Iyo on why she’s so dominant and will retain at SummerSlam. Almost all of these promo’s have been from a weird 45 degree angle with the speaker looking off the camera. It’s been very noticeable.

We go to the back with the minihausens and Danhausen all laid out in his lab. Pearce tells Danhausen to give the money back. Danhausen says NO! Hang the human monies on a pole! Pearce says what to which Danhausen says “Haven’t you ever watched wrestling?” Even after that total shitter segment earlier, Danhausen still makes the save. Danhausen v Dom at SummerSlam will now be a human monies on a pole match!

The Uso’s make their way to the ring with their tandem theme. I kinda miss them both coming out to Jey’s “Just me, Uce”. It was so absurd. As they make their way to the ring they’re interrupted by… commercial nine!

Back from commercial and Jey has production run it back. Which the crowd is eating up. Isn’t Bloodline heel now? It blows my mind they get these reactions. I guess the crowd just loves being part of the show. They’re yeeting along with Jey. A big nothing promo that ends with “This your warning shot. POW"!” Jey and Jimmy do kind of nothing in the ring for a few seconds kind of just starting at one another before a rogue “POW. PEW PEW PEW.” Solo comes out on the stairs in the crowd and tells them that this ain’t the Bloodline because the Bloodline had Solo. Jimmy tells Solo to come back to the Bloodline “or else”. “Or else what? You’re going to yeet for 30 minutes?”

The crowd pops for Solo saying why would he go back, Los Angeles loves where' Solo’s at. He tells his brothers to tell Roman to kiss his ass. Knight comes out now from the back. He wants to talk to ya. Knight tells the brothers Uce that after SummerSlam they can patch things up with Solo. Sing kumbaya, then he does their old Hakka. He goes to move towards the back then teases that they’ll do this right now. Solo and Knight jump the ring and take out the Uso’s. Have they not been watching the show? Do they not know Fatu is there? Because he is and he rushes the ring and takes them both out.. solo dolo. And now here comes Royce Keys. He takes out Jimmy and Jey, now Fatu and Keys are face to face. The crowd is chanting FATU. They started trading punches, Keys with the advantage, Jacob with the Tongan death grip, then Knight and Solo even the odds. Jey goes to regroup with Jacob but Jacob yeets Jey.

We now get a promo for Hell in a Cell. In case you weren’t sure that there’s a match happening this weekend. Because there is.

Here comes the main even match of the night

Match 4
Sol Ruca versus Raquel Rodriguez - Intercontinental Championship Match

While Sol is making her entrance we get commercial 10. We come back and a bunch of nothing happens except Raquel possibly breaking her nose. We go to commercial 11… except we don’t. We instead get an overlay that the match is presented by DiGiorno. Raquel takes control and I expect a rest hold in a moment. The overlay comes back up while the ref wipes Raquel’s face clean from the blood and Raquel has Sol in a rest hold. Almost like I knew that was coming. Sol takes control back so I guess the “commercial” is over. Raquel is completely adequate. She’s wrestling weird here so I do think the nose is fucked. Although Ruca gives Rodriguez a knee to the chin which Raquel bumps well for. Sol delivers a flippy DDT to Raquel for a 2-count. Roxanne makes her way into the ring. And there’s Liv from the other side. Raquel hits Sol with a big boot and Sol just slips out before the 3. Here comes Iyo to even the odds. Roxanne is dead on the outside. Roxanne gets up in time to stop Sol from hitting her flippy shit. Raquel hits her Tejana Bomb and gets the win! Raquel is a singles champion!

Winner: Raquel Rodriguez via pinfall off a Tejana Bomb after Roxanne interference

And now.. it’s time for the main event! Seth and Roman face off in an in-ring face-off!

They’re actually billing the Danhausen and Dom match as a “Human Monie$ on a pole” match. Incredible.

It’s the final chapter of the Roman and Seth segments! We’re now revisiting Heyman turning on Roman for Seth at Mania 41. Which was actually the largest Mania because it was 1 larger than XL.

We go to the real 11th commercial break of the night as Roman makes his way to the ring. We’re back and as Roman is about to tell Los Angeles to acknowledge him, Seth’s music interrupts. Seth comes out again in his brown jacket with black shirt and tie. I’ll say it. I miss the drip-king. Once Seth’s music ends, he gets in Romans face and tells LA to acknowledge HIM. Roman tells Seth he’s an asshole. Seth says “guilty”. Seth talks about how he is an asshole because he’s had to grind while Roman has been handed it all on a silver platter. He’s not taking anything away from Seth because he’s what he says he is. But there’s one thing Roman will never be better than Seth at and that’s professional wrestling. Seth reminds Reigns that he owns his ass, both in the ring and in his head. “You can call me an asshole all you want. But you can’t call me a liar.” Seth tells Roman he doesn’t stand a chance. Roman’s turn. Roman says he’s the only real superstar. He’s the only true champion. And when he said it, he meant it. He needs to beat Seth. He needs his family to see it. Everyone needs to see it. The entire industry needs Roman to beat Seth.

Seth reminds Roman of when he cashed in on Roman at Mania 31, sending the entire Anoai family back home in tears. He hopes the family is there on Sunday because he’d love nothing more than to watch them cry again. When they find out daddy is a fraud, loser, and will forever be Seth Rollins bitch.

Roman has had enough and attacks Seth. Ground and pound, superman punch, spear. Rollins is leaning on the ropes as Roman goes to the outside and grabs a chair. A callback to 12 years ago when Rollins turned on Roman. As Roman rolls in, Rollins gives Roman a stomp right onto the chair. The crowd sings us out as Rollins stands over Roman to end the night.

And with that, the red brand is on its way to SummerSlam!
